PM Modi stopped his convoy at Delhi airport for 45 minutes for NEET students
New Delhi: After returning from Kolkata to Delhi on Sunday afternoon, Prime Minister Narendra Modi showed sensitivity in a different way. According to ANI sources, PM Modi decided to stay at Delhi airport for about 45 minutes so that students going to give NEET-UG re-exam do not face problems due to traffic.
Changed my schedule in the interest of students
PM Modi reached the airport at around 1:15 pm. NEET re-exam was to start at 2 pm. If his convoy had left immediately, traffic on the roads of Delhi would have had to be stopped, which could have caused problems to the students going towards the examination centres.
In view of this, the Prime Minister thought it better to stay at the airport itself. Sources say that this decision was taken completely keeping in mind the convenience of the students. The PM left from there shortly after the examination began.
More than 22 lakh students appear in NEET UG re-exam 2026
This re-exam started at 2 pm on Sunday and ended at 5:15 pm. This time the National Testing Agency also gave additional time of 15 minutes to the candidates.
The examination was conducted at 5,440 centers in 551 cities of the country and 14 centers abroad. Apart from English, the paper was conducted in 12 Indian languages. Earlier this exam was held on May 3, but it was canceled after allegations of paper leak. The investigation of the case is still going on.
Unprecedented security arrangements for transparency
This time NTA has made strict arrangements to prevent irregularities. CCTVs have been installed in more than 95 thousand examination rooms. Live feeds of a total of 1 lakh 38 thousand 560 cameras are being monitored at the national, state and ministry levels.
Apart from this, 51 thousand 311 signal jammers have also been installed to prevent electronic copying. Every year lakhs of students appear for NEET, so managing both traffic and security on the exam day becomes a big challenge.
PM’s focus on exams and students’ issues
In the past also, PM Modi has been openly talking on issues related to the welfare of students and examinations. Through programs like Pariksha Pe Charcha, they interact directly with students and share tips to reduce stress.
Sunday’s decision is also being considered a part of this thinking. Both the administration and students have appreciated the move. He says that such a decision reduces the problems faced on the day of examination to a great extent.
