Narendra Modi Discusses Iran Conflict: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spoke to Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman and Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah. Discussing the regional situation, he described the safety of the Indian community living there as the top priority.

The talks took place at a time when India is in constant touch with the countries concerned and other key partners regarding the ongoing conflict in Iran and the Gulf region. The Prime Minister discussed recent developments with the three leaders and condemned the violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of their countries.

While giving information on the exchange, Prime Minister Modi said that he discussed the recent developments in West Asia with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. He strongly condemned the violation of Oman’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The two leaders agreed that continued diplomatic dialogue is essential for the early restoration of peace and stability in the region. The Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude to the government of Oman for the support being given to the Indian community living there.

PM Modi spoke to the Crown of Kuwait

At the same time, the Prime Minister described the conversation with Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah as “meaningful”. He said India condemns the violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and stands with the people of Kuwait in this difficult time. Both leaders stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to restore regional peace. The Prime Minister appreciated the cooperation of the leadership of Kuwait in ensuring the safety and well-being of the Indian community there.

Along with this, after the conversation with the Emir of Qatar, PM Modi wrote on X, “Had a conversation with my brother, the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. We stand in strong solidarity with Qatar and strongly condemn any violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. We stressed the urgent need to restore peace and stability in the region through dialogue and diplomacy. Thank you for his continued support and care towards the Indian community in Qatar in these challenging times. I also expressed my gratitude to him for this.”

Here, in the statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, it was said that at the time of the conflict starting on 28 February 2026, India had appealed to all parties to exercise restraint, avoid escalating tension and give priority to the safety of civilians. The statement said that the situation in the region has continued to deteriorate during the holy month of Ramadan, which is of deep concern to India.

India clarified that it is closely monitoring the situation in the region and is taking necessary decisions keeping in mind national interests. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, about one crore Indian citizens live and work in the Gulf region. Their safety and well-being is India’s top priority. The ministry also said that India’s trade and energy supply chains pass through this region. In such a situation, any major disruption can have a serious impact on the Indian economy.
