New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in the nationwide celebration of “Veer Baal Diwas” on Thursday (December 26). The event, which honours children as the backbone of India’s future, will be held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi at around 12 noon.
The Prime Minister will address the gathering and launch a new initiative called ‘Suposhit Gram Panchayat Abhiyan.’ This campaign focuses on improving the nutritional well-being of citizens, especially children, by enhancing the delivery of nutrition-related services. It will also promote active participation from communities to ensure better health and development outcomes.
Significance of ‘Veer Baal Diwas’
Veer Baal Diwas aims to celebrate the courage and contributions of children while boosting patriotism and dedication to the nation. To engage young minds, several initiatives will be organized across the country.
Online competitions, such as interactive quizzes, will be hosted on the MyGov and MyBharat portals. Schools, Child Care Institutions and Anganwadi centres will also conduct activities like storytelling sessions, creative writing and poster-making competitions.
These efforts are designed to educate children about the importance of the day and inspire them to embody the values of courage, resilience, and service to the nation.

The event will also feature the awardees of Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP), a prestigious award that recognizes exceptional achievements by children.
