Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the India AI Impact Summit 2026 held on Thursday, where more than 500 global experts, policy makers and industry representatives from the field of artificial intelligence will participate. The Prime Minister will address the conference in the inaugural session. Emmanuel Macron and Antonio Guterres will also present their views on this occasion.
PM will visit AI Impact Expo
According to the government, the Prime Minister will visit the AI Impact Expo after attending the inaugural program at around 9:40 am and inspect the pavilions set up by various countries. The Prime Minister’s schedule throughout the day will be very busy. He will attend the Leaders’ Plenary Session at around 12 noon, where heads of state, ministers and representatives of international organizations will discuss national and global priorities related to AI. During this, important issues like AI governance, digital infrastructure and international cooperation will be discussed. After this, at 5:30 pm, the Prime Minister will participate in the CEO roundtable meeting, in which senior executives of the world’s leading technology companies will discuss the opportunities and challenges related to investment, research, supply chain and use of AI.
A large number of international participation is being seen in this global conference which started on 16 February in New Delhi. It includes over 500 AI experts, nearly 100 startup founders and CEOs, over 150 academicians and researchers, and over 400 technology executives. Apart from this, more than 100 government representatives, including more than 20 heads of state and about 60 ministers and deputy ministers, also participated in the event.
However, the opposition has targeted the government regarding this event. Calling it a ‘public relations extravaganza’, the Congress alleged that foreign, especially Chinese, products were being displayed at the conference. Amidst this controversy, Rahul Gandhi said on social media that instead of making proper use of India’s talent and data, this event has been made a medium of publicity. The controversy escalated further when Noida-based Galgotias University was instructed to remove its stall at the AI Expo.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi said in an interview that India has the potential to make great progress in the field of artificial intelligence. He stressed that the combination of digital public infrastructure and AI can give a new direction to inclusive development. According to him, through AI, transparency of government schemes will increase, delivery of services will improve and every section of the society will be able to benefit from it. In view of the widespread response to the conference, the government has extended its duration till 21 February.
