Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of three important projects related to the National Highway during his Chandigarh visit. The total cost of these projects is Rs 5,278 crore. According to the Central Government, with the completion of these development works, the road system of the entire Tricity area including Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula will become more modern and accessible than before.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the 31.23 km long six-lane greenfield IT City-Kurali section. About Rs 1,936 crore has been spent on this project. Along with this, the foundation stone of Zirakpur Bypass and Zirakpur-Parwanoo Greenfield Corridor will also be laid, which will strengthen the road connectivity in the coming years.

Traffic system will be better, there will be relief from jam

The government says that after the completion of these projects, the long standing problem of traffic jam in the Tricity area will reduce significantly.
