PM Modi will share developments in India: Ambassador Harish

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will share India's developments at the 'Summit of the Future' to be held at the United Nations next week, India's ambassador to the United Nations said on Friday.

“I think he will share India's own domestic growth story,” India's Permanent Representative to the UN Parvathaneni Harish said in an exclusive interview to PTI.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in the US on Saturday on a three-day visit where he will attend the fourth summit of the Quad in Wilmington, Delaware. US President Joe Biden will host the annual summit of the Quad.

Prime Minister Modi will then go to New York, where he will address the Indian community in Long Island on September 22. After this, he will also address the 'Summit of the Future' to be held at the United Nations General Assembly on September 23 and after that he will leave for India.

Harish said that the focus of this summit is especially on youth as they are the future of the world. He said, “India has a population of 140 crores and most of our population is young so it brings the message of our youth. When the Prime Minister speaks, he brings the message of the youth of India to the whole world.”

Harish said, “How can we engage our youth and make them a part of our future? How can we involve them in governance processes? As the world's largest democracy, I believe there can be no better example than India in the way we have empowered our youth to participate in political, economic and development processes and become partners in the development of the nation.”
