PM Modi’s address in Israeli Parliament ‘Knesset’ – Emphasis on common resolution against terrorism
Tel Aviv, February 25. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Israel on a two-day visit, addressed the Israeli Parliament ‘Knesset’ on Wednesday. There was a lot of enthusiasm about his presence in the Parliament. PM Modi said in his address that nine years ago he had the privilege of visiting Israel for the first time and today he is very happy to be here again.
Condolences on October 7 Hamas attack
In his address, Prime Minister Modi mentioned the Hamas attack on October 7 and expressed condolences for the deceased. He said, ‘We understand your pain, we share in your grief. India stands strongly with Israel.
Strong message against terrorism
PM Modi said that killing of common people cannot be justified for any reason. He said that India has also suffered the pain of terrorism for a long time and the country still remembers the innocent people killed in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, including Israeli citizens.

Mention of respect for the Jewish community
The Prime Minister said that the Jewish community lives in India without any fear of oppression or discrimination. They are full participants in the society while maintaining their religion and this is a matter of pride for India.

He said that there is a need for united and sustained action across the world to combat terrorism, because terrorism anywhere is a threat to peace everywhere. He assured the people of Israel that India will always stand with them in peace efforts.

Mention of India-Israel relations
PM Modi said that his first visit to Israel was in 2006 as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Later in 2017, during his visit as Prime Minister, both the countries elevated relations to Strategic Partnership. Since then, resolutions have been taken to strengthen cooperation in many areas.
Emphasis on startup and innovation
Prime Minister Modi said that Israel is often called a startup nation and India is also promoting innovation and creativity of the youth. He reminded that in 2018 he and Benjamin Netanyahu had inaugurated the i-Create Tech Business Incubator in India, which has supported 900 startups so far.

promote economic cooperation
He said India and Israel are committed to expanding trade, strengthening investment flows and pursuing joint infrastructure development. The recently signed bilateral investment treaty will provide confidence and stability to trade. He said that in the last years India has also signed trade agreements with many countries.

Grand welcome in the Knesset, Netanyahu said – ‘You are more like a brother than a friend’
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi was given a warm welcome when he reached the Israeli Parliament ‘Knesset’ for his address. Israeli MPs stood up and greeted him and slogans of ‘Modi, Modi’ echoed in the Parliament. Speaker Amir Ohana welcomed him in Hindi and called it a historic moment.
Israeli PM Netanyahu mentioned ‘Modi hug’ and friendship
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said in his address, ‘Narendra, my dear friend, I am very emotional by your coming here. You are welcome as a great friend of Israel and a great supporter of the India-Israel partnership. He said that he considers Prime Minister Modi more than a friend but a brother and also shared the memory of ‘Modi hug’ at the airport.
Memories of the Mediterranean Coast
Recalling Prime Minister Modi’s previous visit, Netanyahu said that the two leaders had walked together on the Mediterranean coast. He said that even though they did not walk on water, the two countries have done ‘miracles’ since then – trade has doubled, cooperation has tripled and mutual understanding has quadrupled.
