PM Modi’s big announcement at Melbourne Ground, opening match of ‘Big Bash League’ will be played in Chennai

Melbourne: A new chapter has been added in the relations between India and Australia. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), one of the most prestigious cricket grounds in the world, during his visit to Australia. On this occasion, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and former Australian cricket team captain Steve Waugh were also present with him. During this visit, both the countries made many important announcements to further strengthen sports cooperation, the biggest announcement of which was to organize a match of Big Bash League (BBL) in India.

A historic decision was taken to take sports relations between India and Australia to a new height. In December this year, the inaugural match of Australia’s popular T-20 competition Big Bash League (BBL) will be played in Chennai. This will be the first time that an official match of a foreign franchise cricket league will be organized on Indian soil. This event is being considered a big step in the increasing sports cooperation between the two countries. With this, Indian cricket lovers will also get an opportunity to see the thrill of the international league in their country.

‘G-Day Namaste’ will be the main attraction of the festival

This match to be held in Chennai will be the main attraction of the week-long ‘G-Day Namaste’ program to be organized in December. During this special event, many programs related to Australian culture, business, education, tourism and sports will be organized in India. The objective of both the countries is to further strengthen mutual connection and cooperation between the people.

PM Modi shared his feelings regarding MCG

Addressing the people present at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his views on the importance of this historic ground. He said that for any Indian, MCG is not just a cricket ground but a place associated with emotions.

PM Modi said that as soon as he comes here, memories of the exciting matches played between India and Australia become fresh. He said that for both the countries, cricket is not just a game but a shared passion and a medium that connects people. He said in a light-hearted manner that today there is no pressure like the last over of a match, but rather an opportunity to celebrate friendship, sportsmanship and the enthusiasm of the future players.

Sports collaboration roadmap launched

On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also launched the ‘India-Australia Sports Collaboration Roadmap’. The purpose of this roadmap is not limited to cricket only. Under this, both the countries will work together in many areas like sports training, sports science, sports technology and development of players. Apart from this, plans have been made to strengthen partnerships in other sports also. PM Modi said that sports acts as a strong bridge in the relations between India and Australia and now this cooperation will move forward not only on the field but in every field related to sports.

PM Modi met young players

Prime Minister Modi was warmly welcomed upon reaching Melbourne Cricket Ground. He met the young cricketers present on the field and interacted with them. During this, the Prime Minister encouraged the players and also signed his signature on the jerseys of many young cricketers. His meeting with the young players was a special attraction of the program.

An interesting moment was seen during the tour when Prime Minister Modi met Australia’s popular international mascot ‘Ruby the Roo’. In the presence of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and former captain Steve Waugh, PM Modi joked and spent some time with Muscat. The people present during this time also enjoyed this moment a lot.
