PM Modi’s big call to states: Increase ease of manufacturing and trade, make India a service superpower

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday made various calls to the states to make India a superpower in the services sector, including promoting manufacturing and strengthening the services sector.

Addressing the fifth National Conference of Principal Secretaries, Modi said India has the potential to become the world’s food storehouse and the country should move towards high-value agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, dairy production and fisheries so that it can become a major food exporter.

He said that this conference is being organized at a time when India is looking at the next generation of reforms. The Prime Minister said that India has boarded the “Reform Express” and its primary engine is the country’s youth and population of different age groups. This is why the government is trying to empower this population. “Called on states to promote manufacturing and ease of doing business and strengthen the services sector. Let us aim to make India a global services superpower,” Modi said in a series of posts on ‘X’.

The three-day conference began on December 26 with the theme ‘Human Capital for a Developed India’. Modi said he shared his views on how the Center and states can work together to make India ‘self-reliant’, empower the poor and realize the dream of a ‘developed India’. He said, “Talked about the importance of quality in governance. Quality in governance, quality in delivery of services, and quality in manufacturing.” Modi said he highlighted important steps taken to establish a new work culture in matters of governance and service delivery.
