PM Modi’s diplomatic dialogue amid Middle East crisis, direct talks with Gulf countries
Iran crisis: After the US-Israeli attacks on Iran, tension is at its peak in the entire Gulf region. The situation is becoming war like. At such a time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spoke directly to many important leaders of the Middle East and took stock of the situation. PM Modi spoke to the heads of state of Qatar, Kuwait and Oman over phone and gave this information on the social media platform ‘X’. The special thing was that he shared his messages in Arabic language.
Direct talks with Qatar, Kuwait and Oman
The Prime Minister spoke to Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman. During this, the rapidly changing situation in the area was discussed. PM Modi condemned the violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the three countries and said that India stands with them in this difficult time. He also expressed special concern about the safety and well-being of NRIs living in these countries.
Emphasis on security of NRIs
During the conversation, PM Modi made it clear that the security of the Indian community living in Gulf countries is India’s priority. The leaders also assured the safety and cooperation of Indian citizens. India once again said that dialogue and diplomacy is the best way to maintain regional peace and stability.
What happened to the Emir of Qatar?
While talking to the Emir of Qatar, PM Modi said that India respects the sovereignty and integrity of Qatar. He stressed the need for immediate diplomatic efforts to restore peace in the region. He also expressed gratitude for the support received by the Indian community in Qatar during challenging times.
Discussion with the Crown Prince of Kuwait
In the conversation with the Crown Prince of Kuwait, emphasis was also laid on restoring regional stability and peace. PM Modi said that India stands with the sovereignty of Kuwait and expresses solidarity with its people. He also thanked the leadership of Kuwait for ensuring the safety of Indians living there.
What was discussed with the Sultan of Oman?
In the conversation with the Sultan of Oman, the current situation in West Asia was discussed in detail. PM Modi said that continuous diplomatic contact is necessary to restore peace and stability. He also appreciated the support received by the Indian community in Oman.
Contact with Jordan, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia also
Earlier, PM Modi had also spoken to King Abdullah II of Jordan. In the conversation, concern was expressed over the deteriorating situation in West Asia. Apart from this, discussions were also held with the leaders of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, in which India condemned the attacks on their sovereignty and reiterated support.
India’s clear message
It is clear from these high level contacts that India is giving top priority to the safety of its expatriate citizens amid increasing tension in the Gulf region. Also, India has once again reiterated that solution to any crisis is possible only through dialogue, restraint and diplomacy. The situation in West Asia may be tense, but India continues to play an active diplomatic role towards peace and stability.
