PM Modi's US visit brought a big success, the ancient 'treasure' will return to India

America returned 297 antiques to India: PM Narendra Modi has arrived in America on a three-day visit. On this tour, he is going to participate in the Quad summit. At the same time, India has got a big success from PM Modi's US visit. In fact, America has decided to return 297 such rare things related to Indian culture which had gone out of the country through smuggling.

According to media reports, since 2014, India has got back about 640 heritages from abroad. Earlier, during PM Modi's visit to America in the year 2021, 157 ancient objects including the 12th century statue of Nataraja were handed over to him. After this, after PM Modi's visit in the year 2023, America returned 105 objects to India. Apart from this, 16 artifacts have been retrieved from the UK and 14 from Australia.

PM Modi expressed gratitude to America

Expressing his gratitude to President Biden in an X post, Prime Minister Modi wrote, “The fight against illegal smuggling and cultural relations are getting stronger. We are grateful to President Joe Biden and the US government for returning 297 rare artifacts.”

Let us tell you that the Cultural Property Agreement was signed between America and India in July 2024. Under this agreement, efforts will be made to stop the illegal smuggling of cultural items.
