PM Rahat Scheme: Many schemes are being run by the Government of India for the economic support and security of the citizens. Recently, the government has launched ‘PM RAHAT’ (Road Accident Victim Hospitalization and Assured Treatment) scheme to prevent the increasing road accidents in the country and deaths due to lack of timely treatment. The main objective of this initiative is to ensure that treatment of injured persons is not delayed due to lack of funds during the ‘Golden Hour’ i.e. the first one hour after the accident.

Under this scheme, now victims of road accidents will be able to get immediate and better treatment without worrying about hospital bills, which will increase the chances of saving their lives.

Government’s focus on ‘Golden Hour’

The government has implemented this special rule keeping in mind the importance of ‘Golden Hour’. It has often been seen in road accidents that money has to be deposited before hospitalization or starting the treatment, which delays the treatment and increases the risk of death of the injured. According to the information, the government has now given clear instructions to the hospitals that it will be mandatory to treat the injured person first.

Money transaction and paper processing will be done after this. The government has also clarified that cases will be registered through digital tracking, due to which treatment permission can be processed faster than before.
