PM Svanidhi scheme: Eligibility, interest rate and how to apply online

New Delhi: The PM SVANidhi Scheme has benefited 13.42 crore street vendors so far, according to data shared by the Centre in Parliament. Union MoS for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu in a written response to a question in the Rajya Sabha shared that 40.36 lakh loans out of a total of 94.31 lakh SVANidhi loans have already been repaid by beneficiaries.

Out of all states and Union territories, Madhya Pradesh has been the best performed under the PM SVANidhi SCheme while Assam received the award for innovation and best practices related to the scheme.

How to check PM Svanidhi loan status?

To check your PM Svanidhi loan status, visit the official website for this scheme at pmsvanidhi.mohua.gov.in. On reaching the page, the concerned applicant must enter their application ID and registered mobile number to check their PM Svanidhi loan status. PM Svanidhi loan is granted at 15 per cent per annum diminishing interest rate and the loan amount is capped at Rs 50,000 starting from Rs 20,000. The minimum loan tenure is 18 months and it is capped at 36 months.

PM SVANidhi Scheme Interest rate

The Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi Yojana (PM SVANidhi Scheme) offers incentives to street vendors such as a 7 per cent per annum interest subsidy on regular loan repayments. Borrowers will also receive Rs 2,100 cashback per annum on conducting digital transactiosn as prescribed under the scheme. Borrowers can also become elgible for the next tranche of PM SVANidhi loans, according to an official statement.

PM SVANidhi Scheme can only be availed by registered street vendors in states and UTs that have notified the scheme. The applicant must have a valid ID card issued by the concerned urban local body or a certificate of vending. Applicants must ensure three bases are covered before applying for the loan. The applicant must first understand their loan requirements. They must have an active mobile phone number linked to Aadhaar and they must have an idea of the PM SVANidhi scheme eligibility requirements.
