PM-Vidyalakshmi Scheme: PM-Vidyalakshmi portal will be ready in two weeks, only two documents will have to be filled

PM-Vidyalakshmi Yojana: The portal and guidelines of PM-Vidyalakshmi Scheme will be ready in two weeks. The Union Education Ministry has started preparations to draft PM-Vidyalakshmi Scheme for meritorious students as soon as it gets cabinet approval. The senior official said that first guidelines will be prepared in collaboration with all the banks. All work will be digital.

All work will be done through portal

A separate portal will be created for PM-Vidyalakshmi Scheme. Through the portal itself, the student will be able to complete the online application, verification of documents and transfer the money to his/her account online. Higher educational institutions will also verify the students online.

Students will have to fill only two documents to avail the benefits of the scheme. This will speed up the application and save time. The scheme also includes all IITs, IIMs, NITs, IIITs, AIIMS and institutions subordinate to the government or taking funds. Besides, higher educational institutions of the states included in the top 200 NIRF will also be included.

PM Narendra Modi described PM-Vidyalakshmi Scheme as a big step towards making education more accessible. Cabinet has approved the PM-Vidyalakshmi scheme to support the youth by providing quality education, he said in a social media post. This is an important step towards empowering the youth power and building a bright future for the nation.

Home Minister Amit Shah said in a social media post that a major obstacle coming in the way of success of the youth has been removed through the PM-Vidyalakshmi scheme. By conceiving the guarantee free and collateral free education loan scheme, PM Modi has ensured that no student is deprived of his education due to financial condition.
