Who can take advantage of the scheme?

A total of 18 traditional trades have been included in the PM Vishwakarma Yojana. These include carpenters, blacksmiths, boat makers, armor makers, hammer and tool kit makers, locksmiths. Goldsmiths, sculptors (stone carvers), pottery makers (potters) and cobblers/shoe makers have also been included. Whereas basket/mat/broom makers/jute weavers, masons, barbers, garland makers (Malakar) and clothes washers (Dhobi) have also been brought under the ambit of the scheme. Loan up to Rs 3 lakh without guarantee

With the help of PM Vishwakarma Yojana, eligible craftsmen and artisans can easily get loans up to Rs 3 lakh without any guarantee. Under this scheme, loan benefit is given in two phases. In the initial phase of PM Vishwakarma Yojana, a loan of up to Rs 1 lakh is provided to the beneficiary for a period of 18 months. After this, in the second phase of the scheme, loan facility is provided for a period of 30 months. This time the beneficiary is given additional loan up to Rs 2 lakh. On this loan, the beneficiary has to pay only 5 percent annual interest while the remaining interest is paid by the Central Government in the form of grant to the banks.
