PMVBRY Employment: Vishkar Bharat Rojgar Yojana, Govt’s allocation of 99,446 crores for employment generation

PMVBRY Employment: The central government has taken a big step towards opening up new employment opportunities for the youth of the country. The Pradhan Mantri Vishkar Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PMVBRY) aims to create more than 35 million jobs in the next two years. The government has allocated a substantial budget of Rs 99,446 crore for the successful implementation of this ambitious scheme. The primary objective of the scheme is to empower the youth by promoting employment in manufacturing, MSME and rural industries.
Minister of State for Labor and Employment Shobha Karandlaje informed the Rajya Sabha that under ‘Part A’ of the scheme, the youth entering the formal sector for the first time will get direct financial benefits. For first-time employees, the government will provide an incentive equal to their one-month EPF salary, up to a maximum of 15,000. This amount will be transferred to the employee’s bank account in two separate installments so that they feel financially stable during their initial period.

As per the scheme rules, the first installment after completion of six months of employment is a maximum of Rs 7,500. will be given. The second and final installment will be paid to employees after completing 12 months of service and participating in a special financial literacy program. This initiative is designed to encourage young people not only to earn money, but also to learn how to manage their money. The government will deposit this amount directly into the employee’s savings account or safe investment scheme, ensuring their future savings.
Part B of the scheme encourages employers and companies to hire additional workers. If a company hires a new employee for at least six months, the government will provide assistance of up to ₹3,000 per employee per month to the employer. This benefit will be applicable only for new jobs created between August 1, 2025 and July 31, 2027. The Union Cabinet approved the scheme on July 1, 2025 to strengthen MSME and rural industries.

The scheme follows the success of Atmanirbhar Bharat Rojgar Yojana (ABRY) launched during the Covid-19 pandemic. As on 31st March 2024, approximately 60.49 lakh people have benefited under ABRY. The scope of the new PMVBRY scheme is very wide, which will not only create jobs but also increase employee efficiency and social security. The government’s aim is to increase youth participation in manufacturing and industrial sectors so that India can progress rapidly towards becoming a developed nation.
