Expansion of PNG connection accelerated in Delhi amid oil crisis, NDMC waives road charges for three months
Delhi News: With the aim of promoting clean energy in the national capital and providing better facilities to the citizens, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has taken a big decision. New guidelines have been issued to speed up the expansion of piped natural gas (PNG) connections through Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), which is expected to provide relief to the people in the coming days.
Keeping in mind the current situation and public interest, NDMC has issued a circular. The objective of which is to ensure rapid expansion of PNG connections by IGL in its jurisdiction. This initiative will increase the availability of gas connections in many areas of the capital and will speed up the pending works.
Road restoration fees completely waived for three months
As per the instructions of the Municipal Council, the road restoration fee charged during laying of PNG pipeline has been waived for three months from the date of issue of the circular. This decision will reduce the cost of projects and help in completing the work faster.
Big step towards promoting clean fuel
This decision will not only speed up infrastructure development but will also encourage the use of clean and convenient fuel among the people. PNG is considered a safe and eco-friendly option, which helps in reducing pollution.
Permission to cut road will be given in 24 hours
NDMC has also directed that permission to cut the road for laying the pipeline will be given to IGL within 24 hours of receiving the application. Along with this, instructions have also been given to start the work immediately, so that procedural delays are eliminated and better coordination is maintained between various departments.
Full deployment of resources to speed up work
IGL has been directed to complete the work on priority basis by deploying adequate manpower and resources. Also, it should be ensured that after excavation, all the parts are filled and secured on time, so that the general public does not face any problem.
Priority given to road restoration
The road divisions of the Municipal Council have also been instructed to repair the affected roads on priority basis within the stipulated time frame. This will reduce disruption in traffic and people will not have to face inconvenience.
New instructions will be strictly implemented
All concerned officers and employees have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with these guidelines with immediate effect. This circular has been issued with the prior approval of the Chairman of the Municipal Council.
