The EatingWell team is all-in on Brooks shoes. Running, walking, hiking—you name it, we’ve logged hundreds of miles in them. Whenever a new pair is about to drop, our Slack channels go off like a group text making last-minute plans.
So despite being surrounded by die-hard Brooks fans and writing about shoes on the regular, I somehow had never tried a pair myself—until recently. Last month, the lovely folks at Brooks sent me a pair of the new Glycerin GTS sneakers to test-drive. And let me just say: I get it now.
While the new pair I tried is still full price, you can get the previous—and very similar—iteration, the Glycerin GTS 22for a rare 30% off during Amazon’s Big Spring Salehappening right now.
Brooks Women’s Glycerin GTS 22 Shoe

I’ve been running, walking and cross-training in the newest Glycerin GTS model—the 23. But the differences aren’t all that vast. The Glycerin GTS 22 has a slightly larger drop (the height change from heel to toe) at 10 millimeters compared to 8 millimeters in the 23. The difference in the weight of the shoe is also nominal: The Glycerin GTS 22 is ever so slightly lighter by 0.3 ounces.
Regardless, both models have Brooks’ GuideRails support system (that’s what “GTS” in the name indicates), which is meant to support your body in its natural movement while keeping excess movement in check. Podiatrists are fans of the Brooks Glycerin GTS 22too: It carries the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) Seal of Acceptance.
Brooks touts the Glycerin GTS as ideal for “road running, cross-training, the gym or wherever you might want to take them!” In my experience, they are a great choice for road or treadmill running. The extra cushioning feels a little like you’re floating, which I appreciate because I need all the help I can get when running. And the guide rails system feels very supportive when you’re sprinting. I wear them for some cross-training, though the stack limits them for some exercises—personally, I find that the little bit of extra height in the sole can feel destabilizing when lifting heavier weights and doing movements like box jumps. But for running, especially sprint workouts, and long walks, they have become my go-to shoe.
If, like me, you’re ready to take the plunge, grab the Brooks Glycerin GTS 22 for 30% off while sizes and colors are still in stock. Plus, check out more of our favorite Amazon Big Spring Sale deals, then head over to Amazon’s sale hub to shop for other shoes, kitchen gear and more.
