Pointman crushed under the wheels of goods train, tragic accident in NTPC creates panic – Read

A pointsman lost his life in a tragic accident at NTPC premises in Barh late on Monday night. While MGR was trying to get the goods train to the side, the wheel of the train ran over him, due to which he was seriously injured.

A heart-wrenching accident took place on Monday night near MGR in Barh’s NTPC premises. Here a pointsman was seriously injured after being crushed by the wheels of a goods train. There was chaos at the spot after the accident. According to the information, the injured pointman was immediately admitted to the hospital located at NTPC plant for treatment. After first aid there, seeing his condition serious, the doctors referred him to Patna. But he died on the way to Patna.

As soon as information about the incident was received, SDPO, local police, NTPC officials and a large number of villagers and nearby people reached the spot. Local people said that the injured person had earlier retired from Railways and after that was working as a pointsman in NTPC.

According to eyewitnesses, he was getting the goods train moved to the side. Meanwhile, suddenly the wheel of the train ran over him, due to which he was badly crushed and seriously injured. He was immediately taken to NTPC Hospital, from where he was referred to Patna in critical condition.

On contacting NTPC PRO Vikas Dhar Dwivedi in this matter, he told that an accident has taken place in the NTPC plant. Late in the night, NTPC Police Station Head Kumar Prajapati confirmed that the injured person died on the way to Patna for treatment. A lot of anger was seen in the area after the incident. The local people appeared angry over the accident, while the family members of the deceased were in a sad state, crying. The police have started investigating the entire matter.
