News India Live, Digital Desk: If you live in Delhi-NCR and came out of the house this morning, you must have felt a slight burning sensation in your eyes and sore throat. The weather in the country’s capital has again become ‘deadly’. Along with the harsh cold, there is now a double whammy of pollution and smog. The situation has become so bad that even in broad daylight, a blanket of fog has covered everything.

This is not fog, it is ‘white poison’!

What we think of as winter fog is actually ‘smog’ i.e. fog and smoke mixed. In view of the situation, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for Delhi. ‘Yellow Alert’ Has been released. In simple words it means “be careful, things could get worse.”

Visibility has become so low that it is becoming difficult to see a vehicle 100 meters away on the road in the morning. Not only vehicles, it has also had a direct impact on air travel and trains. Many flights are late and trains are running at a snail’s pace.

Breathing means smoking 20 cigarettes?

The most frightening thing is the air quality (AQI). In many areas of Delhi, especially Anand Vihar, Bawana and Mundka, the AQI meter has crossed or crossed 400. Doctors call it a situation like ‘medical emergency’. This air is no less than poison for the elderly and children.

People say that now the purifiers are showing red light even inside the house. Watery eyes and feeling of heaviness in breathing have now become common.

What do we do now? (a little caution)

Until the situation improves, we will have to protect ourselves:

1. Morning Walk Off: Avoid morning walks for a few days because the air is heaviest and poisonous at that time.
2. Apply mask: If it is necessary to go out, then definitely use N95 mask. Handkerchief or ordinary cloth will not be able to stop this fine pollution (PM 2.5).
3. Drive slowly: The fog on the roads is dense, so keep the fog lights of your vehicle on and keep the speed low.
