‘Poisoned 3 times, still she did not die…’ Husband got his wife murdered by giving betel nut worth Rs 1 lakh, know how it was revealed

Maharashtra: An incident has come to light in Buldhana district of Maharashtra, which has raised questions on the sanctity of relationships. Here a teacher husband conspired to murder his teacher wife. First tried to give poison, then gave betel nut and caused a road accident. Police investigation has exposed this horrifying truth.

The accident was shown as an accident

On the morning of March 2, 2026, Vrushali Prakash Gawande (37) was going to the Zilla Parishad school of Pimpalgaon Kale on her scooty. On the way, near Kavthal village, a white Tata Intra (MH 28 BB 5753) hit his scooter hard. Due to this severe blow, Vrushali died on the spot. Initially it was considered an ordinary road accident. But the police became suspicious.

Due to CCTV footage, phone records and technical investigation, the owner of the vehicle, Manish Narayan Singh Suryavanshi, came under suspicion. During interrogation he confessed that it was not an accident but a planned murder.

Attempt to poison thrice failed

Investigation revealed that the main accused in the murder was Vrushali’s husband Prakash Ananta Gawande. Prakash tried to kill his wife thrice by mixing poison in her food, but Vrushali survived each time. When the poison plan failed, Prakash chose a dangerous path.

With the help of his friend Mangesh Chulkar, he gave a betel nut worth Rs 1 lakh to Manish Suryavanshi. As per the plan, Manish chased Vrushali and in the morning hit her from behind and killed her. An attempt was made to mislead the police by faking the accident.

Husband kept crying at the scene

After the accident, Prakash Gawande kept crying sitting near the dead body of Vrushali. This did not raise any suspicion, but the police investigated carefully. Jalgaon Jamod Police Inspector Nitin Patil’s team exposed the cut within a few hours.

All three accused arrested

Police arrested the main accused Prakash Gawande, mediator Mangesh Chulkar and driver Manish Suryavanshi. A case of murder was registered against them under sections 103(1), 61(1) and 3(5) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). The court sent all three on police remand for three days.
