Haridwar, 31 October (HIST). Within 24 hours, the police arrested the brother-in-law accused of murdering his brother-in-law in Chandigarh Khasta Basti of Shyampur police station area. The brother-in-law accused of murder was unhappy with his sister’s relationship.
On October 29, at 9 pm in Khattabasti Chandighat, Laddu alias Lucky son of Hiralal had a fight with his brother-in-law Durgesh son of Ram Avtaar and Lucky beat his brother-in-law badly with sticks. On information, Shyampur police immediately reached the spot and sent the injured to the district hospital through 108, where doctors declared Durgesh dead. On October 30, on the basis of the complaint filed by Ramvatar, father of deceased Durgesh, a case was registered against the accused Laddu alias Lucky at Shyampur police station.
Shyampur police station in-charge Nitesh Sharma said that the police team formed by raiding the possible hideouts succeeded in nabbing the absconding accused from the parking entrance road within 24 hours. On the suspicion of the accused, the murder stick used in the incident and the blood stained shirt of the accused were recovered.
The arrested Laddu alias Lucky had a grudge against his brother-in-law over the assault on his sister and was already unhappy with this relationship. In a fight between brother-in-law and brother-in-law over atrocities on his sister, he beat the brother-in-law to death with a stick.
