Police caught the suspect in the attack on Saif Ali Khan from a train at Durg railway station.

The Railway Police Force (RPF) detained a suspect from a train at Durg railway station in Chhattisgarh on Saturday afternoon in connection with the knife attack on actor Saif Ali. An officer gave this information.

RPF official said that the suspect named Akash Kailash Kanojia (31) was traveling by Dnyaneshwari Express, a train running between Mumbai Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) and Kolkata Shalimar.

He told that at around 12.30 pm, RPF post of Durg received information from Mumbai Police about the suspect of attack on Saif Ali Khan traveling by Dnyaneshwari Express. Also, Mumbai Police sent his photograph to RPF and also informed where he is currently according to his mobile phone.

The officer said that RPF Durg informed his counterpart at Rajnandgaon station (this station comes before Durg on Mumbai Howrah railway line) about the suspect but he was not found when the train stopped there.

He said that two teams were kept ready at Durg station and when the train arrived, the suspect was found in the general compartment.

He said his photo was sent to Mumbai Police who confirmed his identity. When the person who attacked Khan was coming down the stairs in the actor's building, his action was recorded on CCTV.
