A written complaint has been lodged against former Indian cricketers Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev by a local citizen at the Bajajnagar police station in Nagpur on Wednesday.
Feelings of countrymen hurt
Complainant Deepak Kanetkar has alleged that both the former captains signed in support of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, which has hurt the sentiments of the countrymen. It has been said in the complaint that Imran Khan has been giving controversial statements towards India in the past.
Expressing sympathy towards such a person is against the national interest. The applicant alleges that while the current Indian players maintain distance from Pakistani players, this action of respected former cricketers of the country who have received national honors like Padma Bhushan is unfair.
