Encounter with robbery accused in Shamli

After the robbery incident late night in Kandhla police station area of ​​Shamli, the police started searching for the accused. Superintendent of Police NP Singh said that information was received that two miscreants riding a bike were running towards Kandhla after committing the crime. When the police team chased them, the miscreants left the bike near a tube well and started firing at the police.

During the retaliation, Sub-Inspector Deepchand was injured by a bullet and was immediately admitted to the hospital. Mehtab alias Bechain, a criminal carrying a reward of Rs 50,000, was seriously injured in police retaliatory firing. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. His other accomplice escaped taking advantage of the darkness, the search for which is going on.

Police have recovered 9 mm carbine, a pistol and cartridges from the spot. SP said that Mehtab was wanted in the case of robbery of a ring and chain from a female constable. In this case, two of his associates have already been sent to jail, while Mehtab was absconding and a reward of Rs 50,000 was declared on him.

History-sheeter cow smuggler injured in Ballia

On the other hand, during checking near the Greenfield Expressway located on Shivrampur Ganga Ghat Road in Ballia district, the police had an encounter with history-sheeter cow smuggler Madan Mohan alias W. According to the police, on the information of the informer, an attempt was made to stop the accused traveling in a numberless black Scorpio, but he tried to run away by turning the vehicle. When chased, the accused got out of the car and fired at the police team.

In self-defence, he was shot in the right leg in retaliation by the police, after which he was arrested and sent to the district hospital for treatment. Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Verma said that the accused is a history-sheeter of Narhi police station and 18 cases including cow smuggling are registered against him. The police have recovered a pistol, a live cartridge, a shell and an unnumbered Scorpio from his possession. Further legal action is being taken in the matter.
