Police encounter near Bulandshahr Jewar: Nainu Mavi shot in leg, weapon recovered
A fierce encounter took place between the police and a miscreant on Friday in Jewar area of Bulandshahr. CO Bhaskar Mishra told that the team of Secunderabad police station was checking. Meanwhile, a suspicious bike was signaled to stop. The bike rider tried to run away and slipped while being chased.
Seeing them surrounded, he opened fire on the police. While retaliating in self-defence, he was shot in the leg. The miscreant was identified as Nivesh alias Nainu Mavi, son of Amarjeet, resident of Jauli village. During interrogation, his role in the conspiracy of Anil Mavi murder case on the day of Holi came to light. He was also wanted in Gautam Buddha Nagar.
A stolen motorcycle, a pistol, a live cartridge and a shell were recovered from his possession. The bike was stolen from Secunderabad police station itself. After first aid he was taken into judicial process.
Recently, on March 18, Sanju alias Danger and Gaurav, accused of Holi firing in Mathura, were arrested. On February 27, UP STF injured Pawan alias Kallu in Agra. Uttar Pradesh Police is taking strict action against criminals.
