Police engaged in investigation of blast near CRPF school, bomb disposal squad reached the spot

New Delhi: There was a massive explosion outside the CRPF school in Rohini, Delhi this morning, after which police and fire department teams reached the spot as soon as the information was received. The fire department received information around 7:50 am, after which two fire engines were sent to the spot. Delhi Fire Service (DFS) officials said that after the blast, a bomb disposal squad and a forensic team of police also reached the spot. At present they are trying to find out the reason for the explosion.

The school wall, nearby shops and a car were damaged in the blast. Due to the explosion, a cloud of smoke was seen rising at the spot. A video after the explosion is also going viral on social media.

Fear of explosion due to firecrackers

DFS officials said that as soon as the information was received, two fire tenders were sent to the spot but there was no fire due to the blast and no casualties were reported. At present, the forensic team that reached the spot is collecting samples from the spot. The team is trying to find out the cause of the blast. Police have expressed suspicion that the blast may have been caused by firecrackers, although all aspects are being investigated. Police are also examining the CCTV footage installed around the incident site. The incident site has also been cordoned off.

The explosion occurred at 7:30 in the morning

Regarding the incident, a local said that around 7.30 in the morning a loud bang was heard which created chaos in the area. According to a local person, we heard a very loud noise. We felt that an LPG cylinder had exploded nearby. We immediately informed the police and fire department about the matter. The glass panes of many shops were also broken by the blast.”

The blast created panic in the area

Another person Rakesh Gupta said that people came out of their homes immediately after the blast. “We were very confused as to what had happened,” he said. Sumit, owner of a spectacles shop located near the incident site, said, “My window panes were broken due to the blast. All the stuff inside my shop fell on the ground. It was a very loud explosion.” At present, the police team present on the spot is busy investigating and finding out the cause of the blast.
