Police Foundation Day: CM Bhajan Lal launches Rajasthan Police Pensioners Portal, now facilities will be available sitting at home

Jaipur, 16 April. Rajasthan Police is celebrating its 77th Foundation Day on Thursday with full pride and enthusiasm. On this occasion, a state level grand function was organized at Rajasthan Police Academy, in which Bhajanlal Sharma attended as the chief guest. The arrival of Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma at the venue was very impressive, where he reached the venue accompanied by a motorcycle battalion of police and mounted soldiers.

He took the salute of the parade and saluted the courage, dedication and devotion to duty of the police personnel of the state. On this special occasion, the Chief Minister, taking an important initiative for the welfare of policemen, inaugurated the Rajasthan Police Pensioners Portal linked to Rajcop Citizen App. Through this portal, thousands of retired policemen of the state and their families will now be able to avail digital services sitting at home. With this, pension related processes will become simple and transparent and elderly pensioners will not have to visit government offices.

In the Foundation Day celebrations, three common citizens who made significant contributions in the field of social service this year were also honoured. The Chief Minister honored Prakash Prajapati of Sirohi, Surjit Kashyap of Jhalawar and Child Protection Advisor Sindhu Binujit of Udaipur with citations. As per the instructions of Additional Director General of Police (Personnel) Biju George Joseph, all three were selected for their exemplary social work.

Especially the works of Sindhu Binujit were appreciated. Since 2010, he started initiatives like ‘Vatsal Varta’ and ‘Bal Mitra Thana’ in collaboration with UNICEF to prevent child labor and migration in the tribal areas of Dungarpur. His efforts increased children’s confidence in the police and reduced their fear. In the year 2015, the then Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje had also praised this model and given instructions to implement it in the entire state.

Various programs were organized across the state to commemorate the Foundation Day. Parades, tree plantations, felicitation ceremonies and blood donation camps were organized in many districts including Kota, Kotputli, Banswara and Dungarpur, in which police personnel participated enthusiastically. This event not only became an opportunity to remember the glorious history of the police force but also gave a message to further strengthen the trust between the society and the police.
