Police is not arresting a government school teacher even after a case has been registered against him in serious cases including rape.
settlement In Basti district, if a case is registered against an ordinary person even under normal sections, then the police will take him away by his collar. But if the accused is a government employee, the entire staff is involved in saving him. A similar case is in discussion from Gaur development area of the district. Pawan Kumar, the in-charge headmaster posted in the council school, Jalalabad, has been accused of sexual harassment of his own student.
The accused asked for water from the class 6 student and took her to the room and did obscene acts with her. The incident is of 15 September 2023. The victim's father kept banging his head against the education department officials and the local police but no FIR was registered.
He was forced to approach the court from where an order to register a case was issued. After a lot of effort, Paikolia police registered a case but the accused was not arrested. It is reported that the local police is preparing to submit a final report in the case. A case was registered against accused Pawan Kumar under sections 376AB, 354B, 504, 506 of IPC and POCSO Act 5/6, 9/10 on the complaint of the mother of the student, resident of a village in Paikolia police station area. There is a provision for punishment of more than 7 years and up to life imprisonment.
Now you can understand that if the same case had been registered against an ordinary person, the police would have dug up his house. The advantage of being a government employee is so much that those in charge can ignore even his disgusting actions. On January 17, the victim gave an application to the CWC demanding action in the case related to the minor. Before this, SP and DIG had complained to everyone. Due to no action being taken in the case till now, indirect and indirect threats are being given to the victim's family.
Unjustified pressure is being created for compromise. The victim's family says that if any untoward incident happens to their family, the local police and senior officials of the department will be held responsible. Congress Party District President Gyanendra Pandey and former assembly candidate Dr. Alok Ranjan Verma also met the police captain in this case and demanded immediate arrest of the accused. The family members of the accused student are being threatened with death unless the accused is arrested. Unless arrested, the students and their families will remain in fear and put pressure on them for reconciliation.
