A heart-wrenching accident took place in Tallital area of Nainital on Thursday morning. In Phansi Gadera area, a speeding car crushed three laborers going to work on foot. The collision was so strong that all three workers got trapped under the car. The most surprising thing is that the car that caused the accident was allegedly being driven by a policeman.
Bihari Lal, Pappu and Rajesh Lal, residents of Hari Nagar, were going to do painting work in the Army Guest House located on Raj Bhavan Road. This uncontrolled car suddenly came on the climb and caught him.
According to witnesses, after the collision, instead of stopping the vehicle, the driver tried to move ahead, crushing them. Hearing the screams, people nearby ran for help, while the driver and his companion fled from the spot, leaving the vehicle on the road.
After a lot of effort, the local people rescued the injured trapped under the vehicle and took them to BD Pandey Hospital. CO Ravikant Semwal said that among the injured, the condition of Bihari Lal is very critical and he is being referred to a higher centre.
The police have taken the car involved in the accident into their custody. Initial investigation confirms that the driver is a policeman, for whose arrest police teams are continuously conducting raids.
