Political battle intensifies before BMC elections, Uddhav Thackeray’s sharp attack on BJP

Tezzbuzz Desk- The political atmosphere in Maharashtra is continuously heating up before the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. Now only four days are left for voting and with this the torrent of allegations and counter-allegations among the leaders has also intensified. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) faction chief Uddhav Thackeray has strongly attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Uddhav Thackeray hit back at BJP leader Raosaheb Danve’s recent statement, saying that if Shiv Sena chief late Bal Thackeray had “not fed” the BJP, it would have perished due to malnutrition. This statement of Thackeray has come in response to Danve’s statement in which he had said that “every political party has eaten from our plate”, that is, all the parties have got help from BJP at some point or the other.

Reacting sharply to this, Uddhav Thackeray said, “If Bal Thackeray had not supported you, you would have died of malnutrition. If it is so, then why are you eating the leftover food from our plate today? Your hunger never ends, it seems you have suffered from ‘Bhasmya’ disease.” He alleged that BJP is continuously trying to break the people of Shiv Sena.

It is noteworthy that BJP came to power for the first time in Maharashtra in the 1990s, when it formed a coalition government with the undivided Shiv Sena and at that time the command of the party was in the hands of Bal Thackeray.

Uddhav Thackeray made serious allegations regarding BMC elections and said that money is being distributed through UPI before voting. He claimed that the ruling party is trying to ensure that no strong candidate from the opposition is able to stand in the field. Thackeray said, “If the police administration is really alert, then it should take this entire matter seriously and conduct a fair investigation.”

Uddhav Thackeray also attacked Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He said that the name and election symbol were snatched from his party, but the people are still with him. Thackeray said, “We are making a new beginning, just like we did in 1988. Today we have many new faces, who will become the voice of the people.”

Referring to the water crisis of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Thackeray said that the city gets water only 44 days in a year. He claimed that during his tenure as chief minister, the state government had proposed to fully fund a major pipeline project for the city. “But the present government forced the city to take a loan for this project and yet the scheme is still incomplete,” he alleged.

Such rhetoric before the BMC elections has made it clear that the politics of Maharashtra is going to get more heated in the coming days.
