Political heat intensifies before Bengal election results, Giriraj Singh

The second phase of voting has been completed in West Bengal and now all eyes are on the results on May 4. Meanwhile, the politics of the state has become completely heated and major parties are claiming their respective victories.

New Delhi: The political atmosphere in West Bengal politics has become very heated before the assembly election results. The voting process in the state has been completed with the second phase on April 29 and now all eyes are on the results on May 4. Meanwhile, the rhetoric regarding victory and defeat among political parties has intensified. In this sequence, Union Minister Giriraj Singh has made a big claim about the victory of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has further increased the political stir.

“Government is not being formed, it has already been formed” – Giriraj Singh claims

While talking to the media, Giriraj Singh said that there is no possibility of Bharatiya Janata Party forming the government in West Bengal, but in his view the government has already been formed. He said that this time’s election is not just a sign of change of power, but it is pointing towards a decisive change. According to him, the public inclination is clearly visible in favor of BJP.

In his statement, Giriraj Singh also said that as per the indications given earlier by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, now every single thing will be accounted for. He also claimed that after the elections, strict action will be taken regarding law and order. According to him, “Strict action will be taken against anti-social elements and those who spread violence in Bengal. However, political controversy may also increase over his statement because the opposition is calling it election rhetoric.

TMC vs BJP: tough competition

This election is considered very tough between Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Bharatiya Janata Party. TMC under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is trying to return to power for the fourth consecutive time, while BJP is in the fray with the aim of forming a government with absolute majority for the first time in the state. This election is being considered not only as a contest for change of power, but also as a contest for political influence and deciding the direction of future national politics.

Public participation in this election has reached a historic level. The total turnout in the two phases was recorded at 92.47%, the highest since independence.

  • In the first phase: 93.13% voting
  • In the second phase: 91.66% voting

This figure also surpassed the record set in 2011, when the Left Front’s long rule in the state ended.

Decisive election for Mamata Banerjee

According to political analysts, this election is the most important milestone in the political career of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. After being in power for the last 15 years, this election is being considered a test of his leadership ability and political hold. If TMC wins, it could make them the strongest face of opposition in national politics ahead of the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. At the same time, BJP’s victory can bring a big change in the politics of the state.

During the election campaign, both the major parties made serious allegations against each other. While BJP raised the issue of change and development, TMC accused the central government of weakening the federal structure.
