Just before the resignation, a secret meeting of the cabinet was called at the residence. The script of this big political drama had been written on Thursday itself. Just before leaving for Raj Bhavan to tender his resignation, Siddaramaiah had held a special high-tea meeting for cabinet colleagues and ministers at his official chief ministerial residence. According to sources in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), during the same meeting, Siddaramaiah informed all his ministers about the decision of the high command and informed them of his final decision to step down from the post.
