Politics, Mamata Banerjee attacked ECI’s new order for elections, said – people’s livelihood will be affected

The first phase of assembly election voting in West Bengal is scheduled to take place on April 23. Regarding which the Election Commission (ECI) has issued strict instructions. Bike rally has been banned since 2 days. Apart from this, movement has also been banned for the night. The order has come into effect from April 21. Now political stir is also being seen on the orders of ECI. Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has attacked the Election Commission as well as the BJP.

The Chief Minister has criticized the decision of the Commission. He said, ‘This may hamper people’s livelihood. This will have a direct impact on lakhs of people who are regular commuters, office goers and depend on two wheelers. This is ECI’s bullying. The Commission is finding new and creative ways to make life difficult for the people of Bengal. Besides, it is also making the path easier for BJP.”

Questions were also raised on the appointment of Surjit Roy

Mamta Banerjee has also raised many questions on the Election Commission regarding the decision of appointing Surjit Roy as Returning Officer in Bhawanipur. He said, “He is very close to the load shedding officials of BJP.” Allege that efforts are also being made to ban TMC’s election campaign related activities.

ECI’s new order

The Election Commission has clarified in its new order that riding a motor bike is considered prohibited from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am. But relaxation will be given in emergency cases like medical or family functions. Sitting on the back of a motorcycle will not be allowed from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Relaxation will be given in cases of medical emergency, family functions or other urgent needs like dropping/picking up children from school etc. On the day of voting, people will be allowed to travel with their family on the motorcycle for voting and other needs like medical emergency, family etc. If any citizen wants exemption from these restrictions, they will have to take written permission from the local police station.
