Veteran actress Poonam Sinha has recently opened up about the profound impact her daughter, Sonakshi Sinha, has had on their family following her marriage to Zaheer Iqbal in June 2024. She revealed that while the relationship was kept private for five years, she eventually became her daughter’s greatest ally, spending two years “pacifying” and convincing husband Shatrughan Sinha to accept the interfaith match. “I noticed her trying too hard to please us and doing household work just to make us happy,” Poonam recalled with a smile. “A mother can always sense when something is different.”
Poonam shared that seeing Sonakshi “screaming with joy” during her wedding registration was a turning point that washed away any lingering family hesitations.
