Poonch: Conspiracy to terrorize on New Year fails; Bomb dropped from drone and drugs recovered, major action by security forces

Jammu and Kashmir. Indian brave men have foiled the nefarious attempt to disturb peace from across the border amid New Year celebrations. A consignment of explosives and narcotics dropped by Pakistani drone on the Line of Control (LoC) in Khadi sector of Poonch district has been recovered.

Highlights of the big action:

‘Death consignment’ dropped by drone: A suspicious bag was dropped through a drone on the Indian border from Pakistan. Vigilant soldiers immediately sensed this suspicious activity.

Joint Search Operation: Army, police and Special Operations Group (SOG) cordoned off the entire area early in the morning and started the search operation.

Recovery from river: After hours of effort, the suspicious bag was recovered from near Pulastya river.

Explosives and Drugs: The security forces were also surprised when they examined the bag. IED, bullets and three packets of drugs were found in it.

The soldiers were on high alert: Intelligence agencies had already received inputs that terrorist organizations were planning to carry out some major incident on the New Year. Due to this alertness a major danger was averted.

Stance of security agencies:
Security forces have seized the explosive and started investigation. Efforts are being made to find out to whom this consignment was to reach locally. Security has been further tightened in the border areas.
