Poppy Seeds Halwa: There is something different about eating hot halwa in the cold weather. In this season, most people make and eat carrot or moong halwa. But have you ever tried poppy seeds pudding? This is a great, nutritious and delicious dessert in winters. Today we will tell you an easy recipe to make poppy seeds pudding at home.
Material
Poppy seeds – ½ cup
Milk – 1 cup
Ghee – 3–4 tbsp
Sugar or jaggery – ½ cup
Cardamom powder – ½ tsp
Cashews – 10-12 (chopped)
Almonds – 8-10 (chopped)
Raisins – 1 tablespoon
Method
- First of all, soak the poppy seeds in water for 3-4 hours or overnight. Add some milk to the soaked poppy seeds in the mixer and grind them finely.
- Now heat ghee in a pan, add ground poppy seeds and fry on medium flame while stirring continuously.
- When the poppy seeds start releasing ghee and become fragrant, add milk to it. Continue cooking on low flame until the halwa becomes thick.
- Now add sugar or jaggery to it and mix well. Add cardamom powder, dry fruits and cook for 2-3 minutes more. Turn off the gas and serve hot.
