Poster war in Bengal elections, a great battle broke out on the walls of Haringhata, BJP candidate Asim Sarkar cornered TMC

News India Live, Digital Desk: In view of the West Bengal Assembly elections, the political temperature in the state is at its peak. This time the electoral battlefield is not limited to just rallies and public meetings, rather very creative and at times ‘sharp’ methods of campaigning are being adopted. Satirical posters and slogans on the walls in Haringhata of Nadia district have created a new controversy. BJP candidate Asim Sarkar has strongly criticized these posters and termed them as ‘politics without limits’. Tension due to posters in Ward No. 4 of Haringhata. The walls of Ward No. 4 of Haringhata are currently a political battlefield. Many satirical posters have been pasted here with slogans like ‘No Vote to BJP’. Local sources and BJP workers allege that these posters have been put up by Trinamool Congress (TMC). These posters contain cartoons of BJP leaders and such messages which are directly trying to influence the sentiments of the voters. The most special and controversial thing about the posters is that an attempt is being made to scare the voters by allegedly mentioning ‘Detention Centre’. An attempt has been made through the messages to convey that if BJP comes to power, the common people may face problems due to the demographic situation of the state and citizenship issues. This kind of ‘negative campaigning’ has sparked an ideological debate in the area. Asim Sarkar, who is ‘campaigning through songs’, is furious. BJP candidate Asim Sarkar, famous for his ‘poet songs’ and melodious style of election campaign, has given a sharp reaction to this campaign. He said, “There should be decency and respect in politics. You cannot win the hearts of the public by making personal attacks and derogatory cartoons.” Describing these posters as ‘desperation’ of the opposition, he said that BJP is fighting the elections on the issue of development and humanity, and not by spreading fear. ‘Strange’ campaign in Bengal: Somewhere with fish, somewhere with shaving. This time, some very ‘unusual’ ways of campaigning in Bengal elections are also gaining discussion: Bidhannagar: By campaigning with fish, BJP’s Sharadwat Mukherjee tried to give the message that his party will not impose any restrictions on food and drink. Asansol: Agnimitra Paul is reaching the villages by cycling. Other areas: Many candidates are trying to ‘connect voters’ by sitting at the local barber shop, shaving people or cutting vegetables in the kitchen. Creativity or a new means of controversy? Political analysts believe that as the voting dates (April 23 and 29) are coming closer, this ‘creative war’ between the parties may become even more bitter. This poster war, which started from the walls of Haringhata, is now going viral on social media as well, due to which the election mood of Bengal has become more heated.
