BJP Target Congress: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has targeted Congress over the case of American businessman Neville Roy Singham associated with NewsClick. BJP’s national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari has said that the entire Congress system is corrupt. What is the Newsclick money laundering case?

Actually, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued summons to American businessman Neville Roy Singham in the Newsclick money laundering case. According to reports, Singham is currently living in Shanghai city of China. For this reason, ED, with the help of the Ministry of External Affairs, sent summons to Chinese officials so that they could deliver it to Singham. ED has asked Singham to come to its office in India and record his statement. ED had also issued summons to Singham last year. But the Chinese authorities then refused to accept this summons.

Newsclick accused of spreading Chinese propaganda

During the hearing in the Newsclick case, the Delhi court had issued a formal request to the Chinese court. After which ED took this action against Singham. Newsclick is accused of taking money in exchange for spreading Chinese propaganda. Mainly there is an allegation of receiving money from Singham. ‘NewsClick’ Five agencies including ED are investigating against him. The Special Cell of Delhi Police had registered an FIR in the matter. After this, CBI has also registered FIR in this matter and started investigation.
