'Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme App' was launched for the guidance of applicants
Delhi Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday launched a dedicated mobile app for the Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme. This app has several features, in which clean interfaces with clean design and spontaneous navigation; Easy registration through Aadhaar face authentication; Spontaneous navigation (eligible candidates can see opportunities based on place etc.), a personal dashboard; And the candidates include real-time alert to keep the new updates aware of the new updates.
The Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme (PMIS Yojana) announced in Budget 2024-25 is to provide internship opportunities in top 500 companies to one crore youth in five years.
As the scheme begins, the pilot project, which aims to provide 1.25 lakh internship opportunities to the youth, was launched on 3 October 2024.
In this scheme, 12 months of paid internship is provided in India's top companies.
The target of this scheme is a person between the ages of 21 to 24 years who are not currently nominated in a full -time educational program or are not in full -time employment.
Each trainee will get a monthly financial assistance of Rs 5,000, in addition to a lump sum financial assistance of Rs 6,000. Companies are expected to bear 10 percent of training and internship costs with their CSR funds.
After the launch of the app, Finance Minister Sitharaman said, “The government is keeping in mind that we have to give that confidence to our youth. We need to understand the youth what to do to join such top 500 companies.”
He urged the Indian industry to participate in the widespread interest of the youth of the country.
He said, “The demographic dividend that exists should be available to the industry so that their productivity, their future can be done better with our youth.” “This attempt to make it accessible in all Indian languages in the website by corporate affairs is a very good step. You cannot limit students to English. Every language should have its own dominance in India, especially if students are from non-foreigners. Now by launching a mobile app, you are making it even more accessible.” In the budget of July 2024, the BJP-led NDA government announced five different approaches for developed India. These included measures to promote manufacturing and services through internships.
