Pranab Mukherjee's daughter angry over demand for separate memorial for Manmohan Singh; Congress accused of discrimination!

Manmohan Singh memorial controversy: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has proposed to PM Narendra Modi to build a separate memorial for former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. In this matter, Congress is also getting support from RJD and other parties. But, Sharmistha Mukherjee, daughter of former President Pranab Mukherjee, has criticized this proposal. At the same time, he has accused Congress of discriminating through gestures.

It is noteworthy that before becoming the President, Pranab Mukherjee was a veteran Congress leader. He held the responsibilities of Defense Minister, Finance Minister and Foreign Minister in the Congress government. He took the oath of office and secrecy as the thirteenth President of India on 25 July 2012. At the same time, on 26 January 2019, Pranab Mukherjee was honored with Bharat Ratna. He died on 31 August 2020 at the age of 84.

BJP leader CR Kesavan criticized on social media Kharge's proposal to PM Modi for the construction of a memorial to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Kesavan also mentioned former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao, whose memorial was not built in Delhi.
