Prashant Veer is from a small village called Shahjipur near Amethi. His father worked as a primary teacher and earned around ₹12,000 per month, so money was always tight at home. At one point, his father was earning even less, around ₹8,000.

In the early days, his grandfather supported his cricket expenses using his pension. But after his grandfather passed away, things became very difficult. Getting picked by Chennai Super Kings for ₹14.2 crore was a huge moment for him. He himself said it felt like a dream because his family had never seen that kind of money before.

He has always wanted to play under MS Dhoni and learn from him. He sees Dhoni as someone he can learn from, especially because both play a similar role in the lower order.
