Pratyusha Banerjee's ex-boyfriend Rahul claims Kamya Punjabi forced him to drink alcohol

Mumbai Mumbai. Balika Vadhu actress Pratyusha Banerjee's former boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh, who was charged in connection with her death after the 24-year-old committed suicide in her rented apartment in Goregaon West on April 1, 2016, recently Said that Pratyusha's close friend, actress Kamya Punjabi, forced him to drink alcohol, a situation he was not comfortable with.

Years after Pratyusha's death, appearing on Subhojit Ghosh's podcast, Rahul said that Kamya and Vikas Gupta falsely accused him of Pratyusha's murder. Rahul said, “He claimed that Pratyusha had no financial burden, she was not unemployed. Vikas Gupta never gave work to Pratyusha, but made such statements.”

Rahul also alleged that Kamya had borrowed Rs 2.5 lakh from Pratyusha and failed to repay it. He shared that Pratyusha had introduced him to Kamya at a party, where Kamya was drunk. He further said, “Pratyusha had given around Rs 2-2.5 lakh to Kamya and she asked Kamya to return it. Kamya said she had no work and promised to return it later.” She also accused Kamya of forcing Pratyusha to drink alcohol and told that both of them used to drink alcohol a lot. Rahul revealed that he always wanted Pratyusha to stop drinking, a request that she was aware of, which caused her to stop going to parties with her friends. Rahul concluded, “So I became the villain for them. They thought I was taking Pratyusha away from them. Kamya used to party a lot, everyone knows this.” In Pratyusha's case, Rahul was accused of abetting her suicide. However, the Bombay High Court granted him anticipatory bail on July 2 the same year. In 2013, a sessions court rejected Singh's discharge plea, in which he claimed he was falsely implicated in the case due to “personal vendetta”.
