Prayagraj Cold Storage Collapses: Cold storage collapses due to ammonia gas tank explosion, 9 workers killed, many buried under debris

Prayagraj. The cold storage of SP leader and former minister Ansar Ahmed, located on Prayagraj-Lucknow Highway in Chandapur of Phaphamau area, collapsed with a loud bang. This accident happened due to ammonia gas tank explosion. So far 9 laborers have died in the accident. More than one and a half dozen laborers were buried under the debris. Everyone was taken out in a hurry. The condition of four of them is said to be critical.

On the spot, several fire tenders along with several ambulances and police forces from nearby police stations have started the rescue operation. Due to the accident, vehicular traffic has been stopped on Malak Harhar Lucknow Highway. All top officials have reached the spot. One and a half dozen people are suspected to be in the debris. Many people have been taken out and taken to the hospital through ambulance. Forces from many nearby police stations including Phaphamau have reached the spot. It is being told that the condition of four laborers evacuated from the spot remains critical. NDRF and SDRF teams have also started rescue operations on the spot.

More than one and a half dozen people were present in the cold storage at the time of the accident. When the threat was made with a loud noise, the people nearby also got scared. People buried under the debris are being sent to the hospital by ambulance. A huge crowd of villagers is present. There is an atmosphere of chaos at the spot after the ammonia gas leak. People were frightened after hearing the sound of the tanker exploding. Rescue operations are also being hampered due to gas. It is said to be the cold storage of SP leader and former minister Ansar Ahmed. A lot of anger is being seen among the people regarding the incident. SDRF and NDRF teams also took charge. The injured buried under the debris were rescued and taken to the hospital. More than a dozen JCBs have been deployed at the spot. JCB is engaged in removing the debris and searching for the buried people.

When the rescue team arrived after the accident, the angry villagers pelted stones at the ambulance. During this, there was a heated argument with the police. So far 9 bodies have been recovered. Rescue operation is going on with JCB.
