Playing Holi without preparation can prove costly; Do these things now to avoid skin and hair damage
Holi Hair Care Routine: Holi means the festival of happiness and colors, but poisonous chemicals and strong colors available in the market can become the biggest enemy of your beauty. If you play Holi without preparation then the problem of skin rashes and hair fall can make you cry for months. Know how to take care of yourself.
As soon as we hear the name of Holi, we get lost in the fun of colors, but do you know that the gulal and solid colors sold in the market contain glass particles, lead and dangerous chemicals. These ingredients can tear away the outer layer of your skin and severely dry out the scalp. Therefore, before leaving the house to play Holi, you need some beauty pre-preparation.
Why is it important for skin
Massage your entire body with coconut oil, olive oil or almond oil at least 20 minutes before playing with colors. This oil will create a protective layer on your skin so that the color will not be able to penetrate inside the pores of the skin and will be easily removed later. Be sure to apply petroleum jelly (Vaseline) on sensitive parts of the face like behind the ears and neck.
Give hair a natural barrier
Playing Holi with hair open is the biggest mistake. The chemicals in colors absorb moisture from the hair, making them dry like brooms. For protection, apply mustard or coconut oil thoroughly on hair and tie it in a braid or bun. This will prevent the color from reaching the scalp and the hair roots will remain protected.

Take special care of nails and eyes
Colors often settle inside the nails and do not come off for weeks. To avoid this, apply dark colored nail paint on the nails. Wear glasses to protect your eyes and do not play Holi wearing contact lenses even by mistake.
sun protection
Holi is often played under the open sky. The combination of colors and sunlight can cause a photo-toxic reaction which can cause skin darkening. Therefore, before applying oil, apply a good quality sunscreen.
Never use harsh soap or kerosene to remove colors after Holi. By adopting these tips, you will not only be able to enjoy Holi but your skin and hair will also remain healthy.
