Premium EV Sedan with Retro Design & Big Range – Times Bull
Volkswagen ID Polo EV Price and Features India: Complete images of Volkswagen’s upcoming electric hatchback, the ID Polo EV (ID.2all), have gone viral online. Set for its global debut in May 2026, this remarkable car will not only be affordable but is also expected to feature a robust 56 kWh battery pack and a claimed range of 451 kilometers. In this article, we’ll delve deeper into the elegant design elements and impressive features of this ‘baby EV’, making it a formidable challenger to Tesla and Hyundai’s small electric cars.
Design and Stunning Looks
The leaked images clearly show that the ID Polo EV’s final look is very close to its concept model, the ID.2all. Its slim LED headlights and the prominent VW logo in the center give it a classy and premium feel. To enhance aerodynamics, the rear door handles have been magically hidden on the C-pillar (near the window). This design not only gives the car a sporty look but also proves to be quite successful in reducing strong air pressure and increasing range.
How much larger is the new ID Polo than the old Polo
In terms of size, the new ID Polo is significantly larger and more spacious than its old petrol sibling (which departed India in 2022). While the old Polo was limited to the 4-meter mark, this magical electric car is 4,053 mm long and 1,816 mm wide. Its robust 2,600 mm wheelbase ensures exceptional legroom and complete comfort inside the cabin. The imposing height of 1,530 mm gives it a strong road presence, making it feel like a successful compact SUV, not just a hatchback.
Interior and Retro Mode

Volkswagen has completely modernized and transformed the cabin of this car. A massive 13-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital driver display on the dashboard give it a luxurious look. The most successful change is that the company has eliminated touch controls and returned to robust physical buttons, making controlling features at high speeds magically easier and safer. To evoke nostalgia, a “Retro Mode” is included, which, when activated, transforms the entire screen into magical animations reminiscent of the analog meters and cassette player of the old Golf.
Battery, Range, and Sporty GTI Avatar
On the performance front, the ID Polo EV is based on Volkswagen’s robust MEB+ platform. Customers will have two battery pack options: 38kWh and 56kWh. With 125kW DC fast charging, it can be fully charged in a very short time. Additionally, leaked images also reveal a sporty GTI variant, which will come with a honeycomb grille, a bold red stripe, and a whopping 226 hp. This could be a bargain for wealthy young people who want strong performance and a passion for speed, even in an electric car.
