Preparation for ‘Reading Session’, Pratibha Ranta told the entire process of getting into the character of ‘Accused’

Actress Pratibha Ranta’s acting in this film is getting special appreciation. He did special preparation to understand and play the complex mental state of his character, about which he spoke openly to IANS.
Pratibha Ranta told that preparation for this character was not easy for her. He said, “First of all I read the script several times. Through repeated readings I was able to better understand the character’s thoughts and feelings. Unless an actor understands his character from within, his acting remains incomplete, so I made reading sessions an important part of my preparation.”
Pratibha said, “I did several workshops with the film’s director Anubhuti Kashyap and co-star Konkona Sen Sharma. In these, special scenes were discussed in detail. When all three of us would sit together and discuss the intricacies of a scene, the questions arising in our minds regarding that scene would become clear. This helped me understand what mental state I have to be in while going in front of the camera and in what direction the scene has to be taken.
He further said, “The atmosphere during the shooting was very comfortable. After reaching the set, many times the actors also do new experiments in the scene. When you become completely immersed in the emotions of the character, many things start appearing automatically. Sometimes improvisation makes a scene even more effective. There were many times in this film, when the scenes seemed so real as if they were a part of someone’s real life.
The story of the film ‘Accused’ revolves around a woman who is accused of sexual harassment. This topic is quite sensitive and gives rise to many debates in the society. The film seriously shows the conflict of allegations, truth and emotions. It stars Konkana Sen Sharma and Pratibha Ranta in lead roles.
Pratibha said, “This character was special for me because it had many layers of emotions. sometimes he
Strong Sometimes it appears broken. It is important to be mentally prepared to play such a character. Readings and workshops helped me the most in understanding the layers of my role.”
