Shantanu Narayan joined Adobe in 1998 as vice president and general manager of the Engineering Technology Group. Later in 2005, he was made the President and Chief Operating Officer of the company. Two years later, in 2007, he took over the responsibility of CEO and in 2017 he also became the Chairman of the Board. Before Adobe, he had worked in product development positions in companies like Apple and Silicon Graphics. Apart from this, he also co-founded photo sharing startup Pictra.

Five patents are registered in Narayan’s name. He has a master’s degree in Computer Science from Bowling Green State University, USA and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley. He completed his graduation in Electronics Engineering from Osmania University, India. After leading Adobe for nearly two decades, Shantanu Narayan is now moving into a new role, while the tech world is keeping an eye on what the company’s next step will be in the era of AI.
