Preparations for Chhath festival are in full swing across the country including Bihar. Chhath Puja will start from 5th November. Nahay Khay will be offered on 5th November, Kharna on 6th and Arghya will be offered to the evening Sun on 7th November. Arrangements for offering puja and arghya at the Ganga ghats in Patna are being improved. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took stock of the security arrangements in the city regarding the festival of Chhath. He inspected the Ganga ghats from the steamer. While giving instructions to the officials in this regard, Chief Minister Nitish said that all the preparations at Chhath Ghats should be completed on time, no work should remain incomplete.
Chhath fasting people should not face any problem
Nitish Kumar said that better arrangements should be made so that Chhath fasting people do not face any problem in offering Arghya. Keeping in view the water level and flow of river Ganga, strong security arrangements should be made at Chhath Ghats. Strong barricades should be made around Chhath Ghats for the safety of devotees. There should be easy access to the ghats. Barricading should also be done near the roads for smooth movement of Chhath fastis.
The Chief Minister said that during Chhath Puja, Chhath devotees and devotees should be continuously given information through mic regarding the arrangements made at the ghats. Make smooth traffic arrangements for the Chhath devotees and devotees to reach the Chhath ghats so that the Chhath devotees do not face any inconvenience in transportation. Make complete arrangements for cleanliness at Chhath Ghats.

During the inspection of Ganga Ghats, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Director General of Police Alok Raj, Development Commissioner Pratyaya Amrit, Additional Chief Secretary of Road Construction Department Mihir Kumar. Singh, Principal Secretary of Home Department Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, Principal Secretary of Water Resources Department Santosh Kumar Mall, Principal Secretary of Public Health Engineering Department Pankaj Kumar, Secretary of Energy Department Pankaj Kumar Pal were present.
Apart from these, Chief Minister’s Secretary Anupam Kumar, Urban Development and Housing Department Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh, Chief Minister’s Secretary Kumar Ravi, Road Construction Department Secretary B Karthikeya Dhanji, Patna Divisional Commissioner Mayank Barbade, Inspector General of Police, Security Vinay Kumar, Patna Zone.
