Preparations to shift Imran Khan to another jail, former PM lost 85% of his eyesight due to alleged negligence

Big news has come out from Pakistan regarding former Prime Minister Imran Khan. The government has started preparations to shift him from Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail to Islamabad Jail. The country’s Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi told the media that there have been allegations of negligence regarding his health in Adiala jail, after which this decision has been taken to provide better medical facilities.

Claim regarding eyesight

Imran Khan’s family has alleged that his health is being neglected in jail. When the case reached the court, lawyer Salman Safdar was appointed to investigate. The report submitted in the Supreme Court claims that 85 percent of the vision in his right eye has gone and only 15 percent is left. According to the report, his eyesight was normal (6/6) till October 2025, but in the last three months the condition deteriorated due to the formation of a blood clot in the eye due to alleged negligence. It is also alleged that he has been kept in a dark and unhygienic cell, where there is filth, rats and insects and he is not getting adequate rest.

court intervention

Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan had filed a petition against Jail Superintendent Abdul Ghafoor Anjum. During the hearing, Chief Justice Yahya Afridi directed to conduct medical examination and submit the report by 16 February. The two-member bench also ordered to allow Imran Khan to talk to his children and termed their health as a serious matter and asked to look into the matter on priority.

The government denied the allegations

Meanwhile, Prime Minister’s political affairs advisor Rana Sanaullah has completely rejected all the allegations. He said that Imran Khan will be allowed to get examined by an eye specialist of his choice. The government says that the opposition is politicizing this issue and trying to defame the army and the government. At present, there has been a stir in Pakistan’s politics regarding Imran Khan’s health and jail transfer. Now everyone’s eyes are on the next hearing of the court and the action of the government.
